Being An Addict Cigarettes came into being back in the 1600's when beggars would pick up cigar butts, shred the tobacco and use scraps of paper to roll and smoke. Thus was borne what we call today a smoke. Cigarettes are designed as an instantaneous nicotine delivery system that hits your brain in seconds thus causing you to crave it all the more. People who smoke act compulsive because nicotine is a drug. I personally know how addictive smoking is and Ive been trying to quit for good but its not happening because i was a heavy smoker at one point and because of that Im unlikely to kick it. James Bonsack invented the first cigarette machine in 1881 and could produce 120,000 cigs per day. Filtered or unfiltered really doesnt matter because of the negative health risks associated with smoking. Most smokers continue to smoke even in the face of cancer and emphysema, some just smoke to the end. My dear friend Miss Bobbie was diagnosed with emphysema and smoked to the very end which was 7 years. She did vigorously attempt to quit but finally threw in the towel because it was too late in the game for her. Lights are no safer and natural tobaccos are no better either. There is no such thing as a safe cigarette. Vaping is not safer either.....just dont start. Cigarette butts have a cocktail of toxins that when discarded it becomes bad for the environment... I started when I was 11 years old and ive quit numerous times for varying leangths only to get sucked into it again. I wish I never started. Peace,BigT
